September 2022 Newsletter

Welcome to the 2022/23 speed skating season!

We have a great year ahead full of competitions, events and fun. Congratulations to all the skaters on our Provincial and Development teams - we can't wait to see how you excel this season!

Announcing your Provincial and Development Teams!

What to look forward to this season

Medals on Tour
We are so excited to be hosting two Medals on Tour stops this September! On September 12, our Provincial and Development Teams will enjoy a pizza party with trivia games at the RINK with Canadian National Team athletes Heather McLean and Danaé Blais. And on September 13, we have a public skate at the Selkirk Recreation Complex with the Manitoba Aboriginal Sport & Recreation Council. Registration coming soon - check our website for updates!

Active Start
Skaters aged 3 - 8 years old (based on their date of birth on July 1, 2022) can register for any competition for FREE if they register by the Early Bird Deadline! We want to make it easy and cost effective for these young skaters to participate and build their skating skills.

Competition Series
Compete and save with the Competition Series! This special offer for all SSM members allows you to register for multiple competitions and save money.

To access the discount, you must register using the Series link. Register for all events you intend to participate in, in one transaction. This is non-refundable, unless you select the upgrade option available on IceReg. However, if SSM needs to cancel an event, all registrations will be refunded.
